Movie Review: Wonder Woman 1984

  As superhero sequels go, Wonder Woman 1984 is pretty epic, but it’s not without its flaws. Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) lives quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s ‑‑ an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all. Though she's come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile by curating ancient artifacts and only performing heroic acts incognito. But soon, Diana will have to muster all of her strength, wisdom, and courage as she finds herself squaring off against Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) and the Cheetah (Kristen Wigg), a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility. Now, I’m not the only one who has been waiting for this movie. I loved the first Wonder Woman film, not just because Gal Gadot was breathtaking in the title role but by its brilliant execution (which the DCEU was clearly lacking) and that was enough to get me excited for the sequel.
